You are writing about Laura Ingalls Wilder

You will have two parts to your essay that must be a minimum of 400 words each (800 total minimum, you may write more)

You must include at least 3 sources of information that are cited using the MLA citation style (see link on how)

https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/mla_style/mla_formatting_and_style_guide/mla_sample_paper.html

The first half will be a biography, focusing mainly on including information on her early life, western movement, and life on the frontier. You can also choose to add stuff on her education, adult life, and becoming an author if you feel up to it.

The second half should be a historical analysis. This means you will use the information you learned to make claims about various questions. You will need to answer how Westward Expansion shaped her life. What hardships did frontier families experience? What opportunities did they find in the West? How accurately do her books portray frontier life? What can we learn as historians from her writings? What are the limitations of using her writings (what should we be careful about, such as whether she is telling the truth? Is what she says inaccurate?) You may add anything else you wish as well.
