Please review and study Chapter 3. The test is on Tuesday April 15.
Here are some additional things to know for your test:
- How does the structure of DNA give evidence of having been designed by God?
- Describe the process of translation, from the already produced mRNA to a growing protein chain.
- Give at least two ways that an RNA molecule is different from a DNA molecule.
- Put the following events describing transcription in proper chronological order by writing the letters of the events in the correct sequence.
- a. The mRNA leaves the nucleus.
- b. An enzyme unzips part of the DNA molecule.
- c. An enzyme adds nucleotides to form the new mRNA.
- d. An enzyme “reads” the order of the nucleotides in the DNA.
- What type of reproduction would a starfish use to grow a missing arm? Explain.
- What is the difference between haploid and diploid cells?
- anaphase- Sister chromatids divide into separate chromosomes
- metaphase- The chromosomes are lined up at the center of the cell.
- cytokinesis-The cytoplasm is divided and two new cells are formed.
- prophase- The nuclear membrane disappears and the chromatin begins to coil up.
- interphase- A cell copies its DNA toward the end of this normal growth phase
- telophase- New chromosomes reach opposite ends of the cell and uncoil.
- You would also need to know the differences between mitosis and meiosis.
