According to Fundamentals of Literature, "frame stories contain a second story set within the opening and closing narrative. “The Silver Mine” from Unit 3 is an example of a frame tale: it opens and closes with the king’s story but contains the parson’s story in the middle. The frame story is told from an omniscient point of view, but the second story is told by a character from the frame tale (the parson) using the limited-omniscient point of view" (p.241).
